PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Black and minority ethnic professionals
The challenge
A government Task Force on ethnic minority employment, set up in 2004, shows that the black and minority ethnic employment rate is 59.4% - well behind the overall national rate of 74.9%.
In 2005
a study by the Fawcett Society on BME women in Britain - Powerless, Poor and Passed Over – emphasises the "massive inequalities" they face in health, education, employment and pay, levels of political involvement and treatment by the criminal justice system. In addition, BME women are also less likely to be represented in other areas of public life, filling less than 2% of quango appointments
The options
This less than satisfying picture shouldn’t deter you from fulfilling your potential. Whether you want to develop in your existing post, change career, prepare for interviews, build your confidence in areas such as public speaking, managing your work/life balance or pursuing creative ambitions - we can help.
Personal well being is at the heart of our work and is crucial at a time when BME mental health is of continuing concern, bullying in the workplace is on the increase and some staff are displaying what has been described as psychotic symptoms because of excessive – and unrealistic - work pressures.
Put yourself first
You are an investment and a valuable asset, both to yourself and the wider community. We want to facilitate you in owning and celebrating your achievements, growth and ambitions. We have associates with decades of personal development experience at a senior level from life coaches, executive support, and former managers who specialise in developing mentoring and supervision packages at a national level. Not only that, they have been there.
